FAQ

Short answers for common RouteLocker questions.

The goal is to make support pages easy to scan. If you still need help after this, use the support page to email a structured request.

Does RouteLocker upload my trip history automatically?

No. Route data, saved locations, settings, notes, and debug information stay on-device unless you explicitly export or share them.

Why does the speed gauge need location permission?

Live speed depends on device location data. If location access is denied, limited, or inactive, speed readings and trip logging can be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable.

Why does speed sometimes feel less responsive than expected?

Speed updates depend on GPS conditions, motion, signal quality, and iOS location behavior. Open sky and active movement usually improve responsiveness.

What does the “M” marker mean in the Trip Logger?

It means the trip was manually added or edited. RouteLocker uses the marker to keep changed entries easy to identify.

Can I add a trip that was not captured live?

Yes. You can manually add a trip entry, and it will be marked with “M” so it is distinguishable from untouched logs.

What export formats are supported?

RouteLocker supports CSV and XLS export for trip data. Use the format that best fits your workflow or spreadsheet tool.

Do backup files happen automatically?

No. Backup creation and restore are user-initiated actions. The app does not silently send or store backup data with the developer.

How do saved locations affect trip flow?

Saved locations make common destinations faster to select and can be used with the optional auto-stop feature when a destination is chosen.

What should I include in a support request?

Include your RouteLocker version, iOS version, device model, what you expected, what happened instead, and whether the issue involves permissions, exports, backup/restore, or manual trip edits.
