Quick guide

Use RouteLocker without digging through menus.

This guide covers the main trip flow, saved locations, exports, backups, and the manual trip marker so you can get back to driving.

Start a trip

Open RouteLocker, confirm location access is active, and start a trip. The live speed gauge and route metrics begin updating as location data becomes available.

Monitor the drive

During the trip, RouteLocker can show speed, duration, distance, average speed, max speed, and recent trip context in a clean driving-focused layout.

Stop or auto-stop

When the route is complete, stop the trip manually, or use the optional auto-stop behavior near a selected saved destination if that setting is enabled.

Review the trip log

Open the Trip Logger to review the entry. If a trip needs correction or was not captured the way you expected, you can add or edit it manually.

Saved locations and sites

  • Use saved sites for frequent destinations.
  • Search and add a new site when needed.
  • Select a saved destination before driving if you want to use auto-stop.
  • Edit saved sites to keep names and notes accurate.

Manual trip entries and edits

  • Manually added or edited trips are marked with an “M”.
  • This marker helps distinguish adjusted entries from untouched logs.
  • Expect the marker to remain visible in the app and relevant exports.

Export trip data

When you want a spreadsheet-friendly copy of your routes, use export and choose CSV or XLS. Exported files are created only when you request them.

Backup and restore

Create a backup before changing devices or before making major edits. Restore only from a backup you trust. Both steps are explicit user actions.

Before contacting support

If the issue involves trip logging or speed updates, first confirm location permission, current iOS version, RouteLocker version, and whether the trip was manually edited or imported from backup.
